A six year-old patient was admitted to the pediatric unit for stomach pain, headache, and fever. He was diagnosed with appendicitis, which became a complicated case due to a collection of pus. The patient was in the hospital for an extended time, and he also experienced a bowel obstruction. The young patient was out of school for three weeks. Perla, who has been his RN, knew that he was going to miss one of his most important milestones, and this was kindergarten graduation. With this in mind, she started planning the celebration for him. She gathered the team of doctors, surgeons, school teacher, and Child Life along with her fellow RNs and their pets. The celebration was so big and made the news. This can be watched on Telemundo.

J and his family never imagined celebrating his kindergarten graduation in the hospital. The mother wanted to cry with tears of joy. This was a beautiful surprise, even though he was having pain, this made him feel so much better. I would never imagine this could be possible, and Perla made it possible.
