I was admitted through the ED where I had just been diagnosed with stage 3 ovarian cancer. When I was brought to the 3rd floor, Nurse Bobbie was the first person in the room. I was very scared. Bobbie could have easily ignored my distress as she was on the computer, doing her job. She didn’t do that. She sat on the bed next to me and took both of my hands and told me to look at her. She is exceptional! She comforted me and pulled me together. It changed everything! Bobbie deserves recognition for her exceptional care and compassion.
