Pete raised $1,100 from the ED to donate to Safe Kids by raffling off a bike.
While Pete worked in the ED, he saw the effects of kids not wearing a helmet. Pete himself is an avid bike rider and because he cares about his community and our pediatric population he thought that the money would be best served by donating it to this cause. Peter could have chosen to keep this money but instead he made a difference by donating this money to Safe Kids. He raffled off a bike that the ED won from Bike to Work Week. He raised $1100 which has allowed for the purchase of 110 helmets for kids. Peter's creativity and generosity have motivated the entire Emergency Department and hopefully others who read Pete's story.
