Imagine someone who goes beyond the ordinary and beyond the normal expectations of nursing, someone who is understanding and compassionate, just such a nurse is Pete. Pete was always there when I needed him; always there to calm my doubts patiently and with positive answers; always there to make me smile at something funny he just said; "Don't worry, guess what? The poop will come out!" Always there to encourage and congratulate me on my hall walks; "You exceeded my expectations!" No words could ever express my gratitude to and for him. I am hoping Pete will receive the DAISY Award, a much deserved one, as it may show him how much he is treasured. What he has done for me, and I am sure all others blessed to have had him in our lives, will never be forgotten.
