Peter Calcaterra, RN

Peter was my grandfather’s nurse at UF Health Leesburg Hospital and gave exemplary care under very difficult circumstances. While my grandfather was hospitalized, his wife experienced health troubles at home and called him on the phone as she was taking her last breath. Peter immediately called 911 to send an ambulance to my grandfather’s residence. Unfortunately, she passed away in their home. The ambulance brought her to the emergency room at UF Health Leesburg Hospital and Peter took the time to bring my grandfather down to grieve his wife. As a fellow nurse, I appreciate the time and care that Peter took to support my grandfather in this situation. All of his immediate family members are located out of state and Peter’s compassion was so greatly appreciated.
