I want to start off and simply say "thank you" to all the nurses, therapists, and staff at Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Midland. I know most would say they were doing their jobs, but all of them gave of themselves along with their compassion to help me recover. You all have my eternal gratitude.

I would like to extend special praise to one extraordinary nurse, Peter Gazari who exemplifies what a nurse can and should be, in fact, he raised the bar! It is impossible to summarize in a few words what kind of nurse Peter is and how he represents the nursing profession at the highest level. Throughout my storm of pain and emotions, Peter managed to make me smile and see humans in a different light. Peter was a great communicator with a huge heart who showed compassion and professionalism in all his actions.

Peter made a stressful time bearable and helped me feel at ease. Just by Peter’s demeanor, you could tell he loved nursing and caring for others. Even when patient demands were high, Peter managed his duties with collective composure that made the demands of his job seem like second nature. I believe for such a quiet person he is unaware of the healing impact he had on me or any of his other patients. Peter was tireless in the pursuit of compassionate patient care showing a genuine concern about my wellbeing, and positive attitude, and his bedside demeanor was exemplary.

Peter has an easy and calming effect in his communications with me which built a trust that allowed me to know I was in excellent hands. Peter was so appreciated! Peter fills EVERY qualification for a GREAT and AWESOME nurse! I know there are greater things in store for Peter as he continues his passion for nursing. Peter Gazari is deserving of this prestigious DAISY Award at Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Midland.
