January 2022 Honoree
Peter Klim, RN
When I rolled through the plastic into the scary COVID unit alone, leaving family behind and scared to death, it was like a nightmare. My biggest fear had reached reality. Peter was one of my first nurses. He greeted me with a big smile [through] his strange, helmet-type mask. He was a ray of sunshine and hope. All day, his compassionate personality and smiling face made me feel safe. I believed he wanted to be there taking care of me, doing everything he could to comfort me and help save my life. He changed my fears by the end of the day. He made the worse day of my life change into a day of hope.
Thank you, Peter, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
