Peter took care of me for two nights. He did a great job of batching tasks to optimize my sleep, but more importantly, he took bold, definitive action when I had a new onset of A Fib post angiogram and 5-second pauses. I am a retired family physician and there is a patient safety risk of "excessive professional courtesy" i.e. doing whatever I might want. Nurse Nguyen expertly sidestepped this issue. He identified the problem, reached out to the charge nurse and cardiology. Therapy was changed and I converted to sinus rhythm overnight. Not every nurse has such situational awareness and the ability to exercise discernment and to act boldly when necessary. When I mentioned this to him, he was too modest to recognize what I saw as exceptional actions…Peter is a credit to his profession and the nursing staff at St. Vincent’s.
