In life we are faced with trials and tribulations, the hardest being the loss of a loved one. Words are few but actions are many. So many aspire to be nurses but few achieve the dream. A "Real Nurse" is one who takes time to comfort both the patient and the family. I want to express my sincere appreciation and nominate Peter as an exemplary nurse. He took time from his busy schedule to explain the plan of care to the family. As my aunt's status deteriorated, he was there to offer a great explanation as to what to expect after the family's decision to stop all extraordinary measures. From the explanation he gave, to offering boxes of Kleenex, he showered what so few know to do. He showed 'Empathy' It's been hard to write this nomination during our suffering but it is very important to recognize a good nurse. I wish there were more nurses like Peter.
