Peter Sumbillo is an example of the “sweet human spirit of selflessness”; making a difference in the lives of his patients through authentic, compassionate care. I am nominating this Peter as a way of paying tribute to his contribution to establishing a culture of “Caring”.
Peter always maintains a calming presence, even in difficult circumstances. He is superb in coaxing confused, anxious, frightened patients into participating in their care where other nurses have found only hostility. It is not only Peter’s presence, but he will often sing to these challenging patients to put them at ease.
