Peter didn’t just control my pain or look at my scars, he related to me and got my head out of the hospital, even for a few minutes a day.
After a grueling few weeks of dealing with many strange and unexplained symptoms, I was finally diagnosed with a rare but treatable brain cancer. I felt like life itself took a halt and I could not get myself out of the terrible slump. I had my cancer removed from my brain in January and my hospital stay was far from perfect. The one person that seemed to get me out of my slump was my nurse, Peter. He informed me that he was going to be my nurse for most of my hospital stay. He was working four shifts back to back and every single time he came back, he would not treat me as a patient but more like a friend. He overlooked my drains and my procedure and sat with me on the couch explaining everything in such an understandable way. I could not forget the moments he dedicated to my care. He didn’t just control my pain or look at my scars, he related to me and got my head out of the hospital, even for a few minutes a day, and made me feel like I am on the other side of the hump. I really appreciate all the care he gave and will forever be grateful for the care that was provided by Peter and the rest of the Medical Center.
