I had spent most of my day in the Emergency Room since I was in a lot of pain, especially in my chest. I have been throwing up for 4 days and just assumed that it was the cause of my discomfort. The ER doctor was determined to find the reason why I had such intense pain combined with a very high blood pressure. He ordered a CT scan and it showed that I had blood clots in both of my lungs. I was scared to death with this diagnosis, but I did now want to show fear because I wanted to stay positive in front of my husband. I finally got into my room and my husband headed home.
I was never so scared in my life. Phi Chong was my assigned nurse for the evening. He was such a blessing to me. He was very positive and talked with me, but more importantly he let me talk to him. I went from crying alone to having hope and confidence that I'll be all right and that I was in the best place I could be. I went from complete despair to feeling like a luckiest woman in the world. Phi is truly an amazing caregiver and a Rockstar.
