November 2013 Honoree
phil kaiser, RN, BSN
Phil Kaiser RN, BSN of Mount Sinai's SICU was nominated by a fellow nurse, who wrote:
"Phil recently cross-trained to our unit to support us when staffing is low. We are extremely grateful! We all agree that he is a pleasure to work with. He is confident, competent, but never arrogant - a rare find! Today we had inadequate staffing but were going to have to admit a very critical patient. Phil took the initiative to arrange for the patient to be admitted to another unit until we had enough nurses. He was an advocate for patient safety and also for the nurses on our unit. Phil really demonstrated inter-departmental collaboration. He is an asset to Mount Sinai."
