Phil is unusually, empathetically gifted.I was lucky enough to have Phil during my whole stay and he saved my bacon. No doubt he's not perfect, but he was perfect for me.I was not a particularly easy patient. Some patients learn, generally very early, to not give up control of themselves to anyone else.Surgery and a hospital stay is one of those odd events where you have to balance maintaining control and giving it up.Phil was very patient and responsive, with an uncanny ability to read just how much to push and when.He deserves a medal. Phil has my sincere gratitude.
