There are so many situations that demonstrate Phil's dedication to his patients. Every shift he works he consistently goes above and beyond the call of duty for his patients.
I had an 85 year old geri-psych patient waiting for placement into a geri-psych unit. The ER doctor has been waiting 8+ hours for placement. The patient was getting very anxious and uncomfortable on our ER stretcher. I called Phil to see if he could help hurry up the process of placement. Within 1 hour of calling Phil, the patient had a geri-psych bed and was out of the ER. He not only got the patient out of the ER, but got snacks for the patient and her entire family and took care of all the family along with the patient.
This excellent care is so consistent with Phil. He provides such high quality care for each of his patients like it's his only patient. He also always takes care of his patients' family members. I consistently hear comments such as "I felt like he loved us," "He treated our entire family like we were his own family" and "He took care of all of us, not just the patient in the bed."
Phil is so humble, he always replies to compliments with "I just saw a need I could help with" or "it's no problem, I am here to help you." Phillip Perry deserves the DAISY Award.
