On Feb 2 we received the phone call that every parent fears. There was an "incident" and our son was in critical condition. We caught the first available flight from FL and were at the hospital as quickly as possible. Our son J was in ICU on a ventilator. Phil Scott came on duty shortly after we arrived. He gave our son the best care possible. The compassionate care that he gave the rest of the family was more than we ever could imagine. He explained what he was doing for J. The equipment and entire situation were overwhelming to say the least. Over the next 3 days he cared for the family as much as our son. On Friday morning, when we arrived at ICU, Phil was there on his day off to see how we were doing. Our son was officially declared brain dead that morning and the process for donation of his organs would begin. Phil was a Godsend. He comforted us at such a difficult time. We will be forever grateful for everything he did for J and the entire family.
