I met Phyllis over a year ago when she was my nursing preceptor on the MSW. Since then she has exemplified everything that it means to be an outstanding nurse and stands as the benchmark to strive for when it comes to professionalism, compassion, integrity, selflessness, and improvement. She never waivers from her selfless passion to provide safe patient care, regularly advocating for patients and staff to ensure that the MSW remains a place where voices are heard! Her reputation on the MSW as the lead nursing preceptor is because her focus on training skilled corpsmen and nurses to be the best that they can be. Phyllis sets the bar very high and is the reason I am the corpsman that I am today and is the main example/model of the nurse I strive to become.
