Phyllis Sunkin has been with Summa since 2007, earning her chemo-bio certificate in 2013 and her BSN in 2016. She has a Medical-Surgical Nursing Certification, was a Care Beyond Winner this year, is a preceptor for 7E, the unit NPC rep and a force of nature for all who encounter her.
Advocating for safety and education in her practice, Phyllis in meticulous in her care and teaching about chemotherapy to her patients and their families. She is an amazing Oncology nurse, taking some of the ugliest situations in people's lives and make them bearable with her humor, her natural high energy and her crazy sense of humor. She has 647 days in a row with 10,000 steps or more, some of those from dancing and singing with her patients. We are so proud to have Phyllis on our team and congratulate her for her astounding work.
