Nurse Pia is a beacon of hope on the C-wing at CLC and has consistently demonstrated an extraordinary level of care and dedication to our nation's veterans. As a new graduate nurse, I’ve witnessed firsthand the profound impact she has on the lives of those she serves. Her commitment to evidence-based practice is unwavering, yet she goes beyond the clinical guidelines. She takes the time to truly know her patients, learning about their preferences, fears, and hopes. From a veteran's favorite comfort food to their preferred relaxation techniques, Nurse Pia tailors her care to each individual, ensuring that their dignity and well-being are always prioritized.

Beyond her exceptional nursing skills, Nurse Pia is an inspiring mentor and a supportive team member. She is always willing to share her knowledge and expertise, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment. Her enthusiasm is contagious, and her can-do attitude motivates those around her to strive for excellence. Nurse Pia embodies the very essence of the VAPIHCS I CARE values. Her integrity, commitment, advocacy, respect, and excellence are evident in every interaction she has with patients and colleagues. She is a true advocate for veterans, tirelessly fighting for their rights and ensuring that they receive the highest quality of care. For these reasons and many more, I nominate Nurse Pia for the DAISY Award. She is a remarkable nurse, a compassionate caregiver, and a role model for all of us.

Thank you, Pia, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
