Pia became involved in assisting a Patient on 5ST who is from Sweden, and who fractured her arm on a cruise. Pia is also from Sweden and Dr. L asked her to help translate the language, because our Swedish language line was not working for 2 weeks. Pia saw the Patient and spoke to her, and found out the lady was very worried about what she would wear home. Pia went out and bought the patient a poncho. Pia also spoke to the flight nurse and Doctor who were working through international S.O.S to give medical information and coordinate her flight back to Sweden. The patient, Dr. L, and the Swedish medical team were very fortunate to have Pia involved in the case as a smooth and organized transfer could occur.
