Our initial reaction to having my mother-in-law admitted to the hospital was stressful. However, P.J. took us under her wings and guided us through the next 2 weeks with calm advice and information that helped us make sense of all the medical information being given to us from a multitude of doctors. She became our touchstone for background information, and we clung to her even after transferring to another unit in the hospital. She continued to check on my mother-in-law and us in a truly old fashioned way that characterized caring.

My mother-in-law ended up passing, and P.J. came to comfort us. She is a nurse from the past, committed and dedicated to her patients. We were blessed by her passion and support and she deserves to be recognized as a healer of the highest order. She healed our family and made a difficult journey less painful.
