Our sweet baby was a patient in the CICU. He was a patient at Texas Children's Hospital for almost 3 weeks (all of his life). Nurse Preciosa was my son's night nurse for about 5 nights. She treated us like family. We would talk and laugh together. It was nice to do that since we were in such a difficult situation in the CICU. It made us feel like we were home. She would always make sure R was comfortable and that we were also comfortable every night we slept in the hospital. She helped me participate in my son's care, such as a bath and changes. She let me pick out his blankets for the day. This made me super happy. When R passed away, she was there to support us. Her heart broke with ours. I know she really cared about R and our family. She comforted me when I needed it. She held him close and took him to the morgue. I am blessed that she will always be part of our story. I am blessed that she was there for him on his last day on earth.
