January 2020 Honoree
priscilla houseman, RN
When I first came onto PCU in the early morning hours of Friday, I was scared, upset, confused, and overall not a good patient. Understandably many of my nurses and techs were frustrated with me. But not Mechelle. She took the time, came into my room and talked to me. Really talked to me with compassion. She held my hand. She asked if she could pray for me. I told her yes, then we talked some more. When she got up to leave, I asked if I could have a hug. She never once hesitated. That was the best hug I've ever gotten.
Thank you, Priscilla, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
