Priscilla Veldt was nominated for the special care she provided to a young patient in Bloomer. The patient was unable to perform any cares for herself and Priscilla took the extra time to make her feel safe and secure. The patient wanted to watch the movie “Annie” so Priscilla went to the local library to get the movie for her to watch. She would stay with the patient and watch the movies with her after her shift had ended to help make her more comfortable.

What nurses think as "just doing their job" to patients and families means so much more", says Terri Luke RN, Director Medical Surgical Department. "Thank you Priscilla and all the nursing staff for caring for the patient as a person and not just an illness."
