I wanted to share with you an experience I just had with a nurse named Purita. I was so impressed with her treatment of a patient that displayed compassion, respect and caring that I was moved to tears. She was caring for an elderly lady and was in the process of shift change. The patient was asleep so she knelt down and took the patient by the hand and rubbed it gently to wake her. She informed her that a new nurse would be taking over because her shift had ended. She looked the patient in the eyes and told her "Thank you for the privilege of letting me care for you". I heard the patient express great gratitude to her for the compassion she showed for her throughout the night. This was KP in action. All of the culture and vision was displayed by this one employee to this one patient.
