Dr. Qiuhua Shen has been a role model for many advanced practice nurses.  She goes above and beyond for her graduate students when she teaches her courses. Her enthusiasm for teaching the mechanisms of diseases and the need to conduct evidence-based practice to new students is amazing. She motivates students to learn difficult content in her pathophysiology course so that students can understand the mechanisms of the disease they are treating as nurse practitioners. Dr. Shen is always fair and unbiased in her grading of student performance. Her caring and patient nature facilitates learning in students and promotes a nurturing environment.
I have had the opportunity to teach as a colleague with Dr. Shen and she is wonderful to work with. She always does her part and is on time with work. You can trust her to provide the most up-to-date materials and her presentations are polished and professional. When she teaches she serves as a role model for different cultures, demonstrating confidence, integrity, and thoughtfulness. Dr. Shen is an excellent instructor who should be recognized for the long hours she spends on giving detailed feedback to students on their assignments and her creative style of teaching to facilitate learning.
