Let me just start by saying that her compassionate, kind, and loving spirit is what attracted me to Quanita the most. Every time I saw her she always asked, “how has your day been?” I would always tell her that things could be better if I didn’t have to deal with MST (military sexual trauma). She listens to me even though I know she has other patients and very little time. Even though she hasn’t been through this, she is able to empathize and offer me a sense of comfort during my visit. She realizes that this problem is real and difficult for me to deal with. She always makes sure that my appointments are scheduled and, before I leave, she always tells me, as she tells all of her other patients, “make sure you reach out to me if you need anything or have any questions. Be sure to use the My Health Vet portal.” She is truly a gift to the nursing profession. The VA should be very proud to have her because I know I am.
