Quinten was out on PTO and during his time off he was coming home from a graduation event and was a witness to a pedestrian being struck by a vehicle on Highway 31. He immediately spring into action to save this man's life. He instructed the person driving the car to drive over the median of the highway to get to the passenger who was lying on the road and who had suffered a life-threatening event. He then controlled the scene all while delivering care to this person.

He was able to communicate clearly and effectively to the 911 dispatch and without delay they arrived on scene to find the scene controlled, the patient who had suffered a below the knee amputation was stable with his leg secured with a tourniquet in place. This patient was transported to Holland hospital without hesitation. This shows the extraordinary behavior of a Trinity Health leader, which Quinten exhibits daily. He didn't hesitate to jump into motion to save someone's life, doing it all without regard to his own protection and safety. He created an environment of trust and safety for this stranger as he does for his team daily. He was motivated by care and concern for this stranger and that speaks to his character as he daily cares and supports his staff in the same manner.

What Quinten did without hesitation clearly promoted nursing as well as the image of a Trinity Health nurse leader. He aided someone in the community without hesitation because that is what Quinten believes and is an inherent part of his core values. This is who he is as a nurse as he puts the community first all while he leads his staff here at Trinity Health.
