I have been working with Tess for many years. We both started at the Oakland Hospital as contingent nurses. Recently Tess became our Assistant Nurse Manager for 7 Tower. All of my coworkers were so excited when she took the position because we knew she would continue to excel. Tess exhibits and upholds the mission of the hospital by providing a safe, supportive, and caring culture. Through her leadership, she teaches and encourages her fellow staff to do the same. She strives to provide the highest quality of care to her patients every day. She treats every patient, family, and fellow team members with the utmost respect and positive regard. She consistently goes out of her way to meet the needs of her patients and team members. Patients feel confident with her nursing skills and seek her out when they have questions and concerns. She always takes time to talk to the patient and provides holistic care if needed to calm their anxiety. Tess enjoys being a nurse and does it with kindness, patience, and compassion. During stressful moments, she exhibits inner grace and calming. We are lucky to have her as a coworker on our team.
