Quyen Lam, MSN, RN, CWCN, PHN

My husband was in an auto accident and got a second-degree burn on his leg. My husband is hard of hearing and has a low pain tolerance. Quyen Lam was very patient and showed us how to clean the wound and apply the creams and bandages. She answered our questions with patience and humor. She answered some of the same questions several times, with calm and understanding. Since his accident, we have spent much time at Kaiser and have had excellent care. All care has been wonderful, but we feel that our care from Quyen was above and beyond – we felt like she was a friend. She made us feel comfortable and explained how to care for the burn in clear, simple, understandable terms without making it seem like she was talking down to us. Quyen is an excellent example of a nurse.
