My brother was a patient recently, and she took care of him many of those days. She was kind, caring, and very compassionate. He did not always understand everything that was happening to him however she took her time to explain everything to him. Even though she may have explained it to him several times before, she always took the time to do it again. She always had the best attitude no matter how many times a day she had to strip his bed and clean him up – she always did it with a cheerful attitude.

Because of her care, I felt comfortable leaving him with her. I knew he was being taken care of and not mistreated because he didn’t understand or made messes. She explained medications and procedures to me any time they were doing something different. This gave me a high level of comfort with the care he was receiving. When she was taking care of him she made us both feel like he was her only patient. Sometimes when I was in the hall, I could hear her talking to other patients, treating them the same way.

She sets the bar high for other nurses. She is all that nurses should be! Kind, caring, compassionate, understanding, grace under pressure – she went above and beyond every day for him and myself and I am very grateful She definitely is a DAISY Nurse.
