We have a patient in ICU- B who is basically dying of cancer. It's awful, it's sad, and the diagnosis was really sudden for this family. Rachael not only used therapeutic communication, but she took a lot of time to answer questions and just be there and listen to the daughter and it really calmed her, I could tell. In fact, I think the daughter felt so comfortable, she actually left for the night because I think she trusted her Mom was in good care with Rachael.
