COVID-19 has impacted all ages of people, including brand new moms. Rachael was caring for a critically ill COVID-19 mom and was able to provide both physical and emotional support to the entire family! She utilized her excellent critical care skills to care for the patient while she was critically ill.
As the patient improved physically, Rachael quickly and expertly shifted to understanding and supporting the patient's emotional needs. These nursing interventions resulted in the mom being able to more actively participate in her care and rehabilitation so she could be discharged to home with her family.
