My father was gravely ill with a broken hip. My mother was admitted to another unit in the hospital with heart issues. My parents are 85 years old and have been married for 64 years. Due to my mom's heart pain she wasn't allowed to leave her floor. Dad was preparing to decide if he wanted to have hip surgery for his hip or not due to his severe heart problems. He would not decide without consulting his true love. They had worked together every day and were seldom apart during their 64 year marriage.

Rachael contacted dad's doctor and medical staff. She arranged for him to be moved, bed at all, to mom's room so they could hold hands and listen to their options together. She made a difficult decision a little easier. Thanks, Rachael. You're awesome!

Our family would like to express our deep apprecation and attention for the care and attention that she gave our father-in-law, father, grandfather. We had a very unusual circumstance with my mother-in-law being admitted to the hospital at the same time my father-in-law was on another unit in the hospital. Because he had a broken hip and had to make a difficult decision regarding possible surgery-we wanted them to be together to hear the doctor's recommendations.

Rachael, with the help I believe of Dr. T, made it possible for them to be side by side in their hospital beds to receive some very difficult news. She stayed with him the entire time which was probably about an hour and then escorted him back and stayed with him about 1 1/2 hours after her shift in order to complete his care. Her care was exemplary and from the heart.
