Rachel A Wehmeier, RN IV

Rachel was nominated by a grateful new mother who had arrived for delivery 2 weeks earlier than expected. After delivery, the mother was "mentally, emotionally, and physically exhausted." Rachel demonstrated that caring for her new baby was "more of her mission than her job". She was focused, attentive, and knowledgeable and made them feel like they were the only ones she had to see each day. In addition to caring for the infant, Rachel recognized the mother needed support and guidance. She had a way of sharing information in a way that left them feeling empowered and reassured. The nurses at Saint Luke's are the best in Kansas City, and while every single one of them left a lasting impression on the family, Rachel's dedication to her patients deserves recognition.
