Rachel sensed this, stopped what she was doing, held my hand, and took the time to talk to me about what I was feeling and how everything would be okay.
Rachel was the nurse attending my first Chemo Treatment. I was extremely nervous and very uneasy about what to expect. Rachel sensed this, stopped what she was doing, held my hand, and took the time to talk to me about what I was feeling and how everything would be okay. Rachel offered such kind and encouraging words. She told me how fast it would go by and to stay positive. She checked on me throughout the procedure, giving words of support and positivity.
I left my first treatment with a whole new attitude. She truly set the tone for how I dealt with the remaining chemo treatments, as well as any other procedures I faced. She was my nurse for only that first session, and thank God she was. Rachel made this ordeal so much easier. I was fortunate enough to see her while leaving my last treatment. She encouraged me to "ring the bell" and even gave me a certificate of completion signed by the whole team. To top it off, she got staff members together to celebrate the bell ringing and took pictures and a video for us. She is truly an amazing nurse and a wonderful person!
