We could write a novel about how Rachel delivered kind, compassionate care, but words could never capture the comforting feeling we experienced every time she entered the room.
Contrary to the Beatles song, “Here Comes the Sun” that played over the hospital’s PA system every time a COVID patient was released, the sun wasn’t shining for our family when my wife was in the hospital in November 2020 for breast cancer surgery. That was until we realized the “sun” wasn’t outside the hospital room window but rather in the form of our wonderfully talented, kind, and caring nurse, Ms. Rachel Bobrick, who ‘lit up’ the room every time she entered. Rachel always took the time to make my wife feel cared for and seen as her most important patient, when in reality, we knew by Rachel’s actions, all of her patients were equally important! We could write a novel about how Rachel delivered kind, compassionate care, but words could never capture the comforting feeling we experienced every time she entered the room. Now, while in a hospital room the weather is defined by each individual that a patient encounters, and Rachel brought the “sun” every time she entered the room.”

All of the nurses at HUP have been extremely caring and attentive…in particular, Rachel has stood out as a nurse who has taken very good care of me. She is not only knowledgeable and answers all of my questions thoroughly, but she also makes me feel comfortable and treats me like she would her own family. I feel safe and well taken care of. There is a long list of things I’m grateful for that Rachel put tremendous effort into that I cannot fit into this note. Nurse Rachel is indeed extraordinary and proves she is compassionate toward her patients. Words are not enough to express my appreciation, but I hope this nomination shows a glimmer of how grateful I am for Rachel’s dedication as a superstar nurse at HUP!”
