Rachel, a nurse in the PCU, played a pivotal role in my recovery from septic shock. From the moment I was admitted, it was clear that Rachel was an exceptional nurse. She was also a critical extension of my broad medical team. Her sharp instincts and deep understanding of my complex medical history, particularly the medications I was taking for my TBI, were nothing short of life-saving. Rachel quickly identified that some of the medications I was on were compounding the problem, contributing to my dangerously low heart rate. With remarkable efficiency, she collaborated with the medical team to adjust my medications, ensuring my heart rate stabilized and I was on a safer path to recovery. Rachel’s dedication to her profession was evident in every action she took. Her commitment to teamwork, intelligence, and genuine care made her a beacon of hope during a terrifying time. Throughout the five days I spent in the hospital, she was a shining light – a constant source of reassurance and skill. I have no doubt that Rachel’s swift actions and unwavering support saved my life! Rachel is truly a badass rockstar!!
