August 2019 Honoree
rachel cox 2019, RN
I came into the Labor and Delivery unit thinking labor may have begun. Rachel assessed me and was patient while placing the monitors on our very active twins. After noticing contractions up to 68, she got the Doctor in. It was after 9 pm and I was 5cm dilated already; they were breech and I had medicine to stop the contractions and prepare for c-section.
After continued contractions they set up an epidural which was 4 trial errors; Rachel held me through the most intense pain I have ever experienced in my life. The nerve explosions in my leg felt like I was going to give. She was my advocate and she talked me through it with encouragement and empathy. I could not have done this without her. I will forever be grateful for all her help and kindness.

Thank you, Rachel, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
