Rachel Cress is a remarkable nurse. She is very professional and at the same time Rachel is kind, patient, and compassionate. She is taking care of my niece, who was involved in a deadly vehicle crash. The accident caused a lot of damage, and my niece was in serious condition. Rachel consistently stops during her busy day to ask how we are doing, she instructs us to take care of ourselves so that we will be able to take care of our loved ones. This has not been a pleasant experience for us, but Rachel makes everything better. We are so grateful for the care Rachel has provided our loved one. We were afraid, worried, and concerned before we met the ICU nurses. Rachel goes above and beyond in her care for the patient and their family. Rachel has been here for my niece and for my family. We needed a nurse like Rachel more than we even knew. My family is grateful for the expertise, the kindness, and the knowledge Rachel has shown our family. I am listing just one small example of how Rachel has helped my family survive this tragic incident. It is sometimes the simple things in life that count. One day, my niece was agitated and in pain. Rachel observed and fixed the problem. And at a point that Rachel did not know that I was watching, she gently in a mild and tender way, caressed my niece’s forehead and brushed her hair back. That melted my heart. Rachel was not doing that for my benefit. She was doing it to soothe my niece. Rachel did not have to take the time to do that. Simple things count to the patient and the family. That one simple gesture made my niece calm down and relax. Things like that make Rachel a great nurse. Our family is a bunch of nurses and CRNAs, but when it comes to an injured family member, all that goes out the window. Rachel is a skilled nursing professional, and that has helped our family immensely.
