Her unwavering dedication to empowering those around her, combined with her commitment to excellence, compassion, and self-improvement, sets her apart as a leader and role model.
Over the past three years, Rachel has demonstrated an exceptional commitment to nursing education, patient care, and peer mentorship, embodying the very essence of what it means to be a nurse and a compassionate leader. Rachel has been a cornerstone of academic support for her peers, especially in the challenging courses of Medical-Surgical Nursing I.

She has selflessly dedicated her time to tutoring students, including evening students, through one-on-one sessions, recorded lessons, and even casual coffee chats to ease the stress of her classmates. Her ability to adapt to the unique needs of each student, while providing calm and reassuring guidance, has helped countless individuals succeed academically and emotionally.

Rachel’s work extends beyond tutoring; she has voluntarily provided assistance with ATI resources, ensuring students understand the concepts necessary for academic and clinical success. Remarkably, Rachel performs all of these acts of service without compensation or college credit, driven purely by her passion for helping others and fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence.

In group activities, Rachel is an advocate of inclusivity and teamwork. She consistently seeks out and values the opinions of every team member, fostering an environment of mutual respect and shared learning. Her calm and reassuring demeanor creates a safe space for collaboration, allowing her peers to thrive and contribute their best efforts.

Rachel’s performance in the clinical setting further highlights her qualifications for this award. She provides exceptional, patient-centered care while involving families in the care process, ensuring they feel informed and supported. Her proactive approach to teamwork is evident in her willingness to assist all members of the healthcare team, including nursing technicians, and her constant inquiries about how she can improve her skills.

The nurses on the floor consistently praise Rachel for her ability to deliver complete and concise care with positivity and composure. Her habit of seeking feedback, such as asking, “What can I do better?” or “What do you think would have worked better?” demonstrates her dedication to continual growth and learning.

Rachel truly represents the Spirit of Nursing, not only for today but for the future of the profession. Her unwavering dedication to empowering those around her, combined with her commitment to excellence, compassion, and self-improvement, sets her apart as a leader and role model. She is a shining example of what nursing is and what it can be, and I have no doubt that she will continue to make a profound impact on the lives of her patients, peers, and the nursing profession as a whole.
