My husband, a COVID patient, was requesting to leave against medical advice and I rushed to the hospital. He was scared and overwhelmed. But after lots of conversation, he agreed to stay and finally let the staff intubate. Both of us were terrified. Before and after, Rachel came by and re-explained step by step what was happening. I think she could tell I was hearing things but terrified. She didn’t leave my side. She explained what I should expect. In such an overwhelming situation she was the most amazing support. Even the following day she checked on my husband and me. Thank you!
