Rachel consistently shows outstanding commitment to our most vulnerable patients. I have witnessed in mental health rotations at SLPRC and Mercy Behavioral Health her Christ-like character delivering compassionate care. She truly desired to connect with clients during their most trying times. Her active listening skills are superb. She maintains professionalism and is non-judgmental in her interactions with a patient needing psychological support. She clearly advocated for her patients in the mental health setting and could be seen spending time and genuinely enjoying the clients. In the community health realm, her reflections of her experiences were heartfelt, thought-provoking, and thoughtful. She strongly advocated for her clients and families, specifically about medication safety and compliance.  Rachel also shows connection, trust, and respect for her peers. I have witnessed her coming to the aid of her peers during class and clinical. She is unflappable when things go awry for her peers. She supports but does not "take sides" or become involved in pettiness or retaliation. She is a treasure. The nursing profession will be thrilled to have her among the ranks.
