I wanted to thank Rachel because once I told her about my grandfather, she pushed all my results to come as quickly as possible so I could be discharged.
Rachel was rushed off her feet and seemed to be one of the only midwives on the ward during the strikes that day. She kept her spirits high, laughing and joking to keep patients happy, and I also heard her get quite emotional with another, whom she continued to apologize to as she just wanted to get home to her little boy.

My grandfather at the time was unwell in the ICU, and she explained her father was too; she was having to try and find a spare moment when she could go and see him, but it was proving difficult.

I wanted to thank Rachel because once I told her about my grandfather, she pushed all my results to come as quickly as possible so I could be discharged. Because of this, I was able to go and be with my grandfather in his final moments. I found Rachel's last name by Googling her in the hopes of finding her, only to discover she had done a charity abseil down the side of the QMC building to raise money for B26, and both my partner and I said instantly that made perfect sense that she was the type of lady to do that, and even after just spending a day with her, you knew she was the type to always go above and beyond. Thank you, Rachel.
