It is my honor and privilege to nominate Rachel for this award and cannot imagine anyone more deserving! Rachel has been employed by Guiding Light Hospice for the past year and consistently provides competent compassionate care to our end-of-life patients. Rachel also has a degree in music and incorporates music therapy in every plan of care which has been invaluable for the quality of life of all of our patients. She has developed and performed beautiful holiday programs for many facilities which benefits the entire patient population. One of her hospice patients was a renowned theatre director in the Chicagoland area. Rachel organized a field trip for him together with his family to see a show at the theater that he created. Although he died shortly thereafter, it was a memory that was cherished by all and a testament to Rachel?s creative commitment to thoughtful holistic care. Rachel has an extremely enthusiastic, energetic and positive attitude which is contagious and very much appreciated by her patients, families and colleagues. It has truly been a pleasure to work with such a spirited and passionate nurse/musician!
