I'd like to start by complementing the entire staff of 5NE. Each and every nurse and aide deserve our gratitude for the care we were given. Our nomination for the award is Rachel Gandolfo. From the moment she walked into the room we were able to relax. At a particularly emotional time, she was the calming force - assuring us everything would be all right. There was never a question she could not answer or was able to find out for us. There was a medical crisis and quick action had to be taken. Rachel was calm, efficient and comforting all at the same time. She was in charge, helping us through a frightening time. Rachel gave us the impression we were her only patient - never rushed and always taking time to listen. AND, above and beyond, when there were no beds or cots for me (the patient's mother) she was determined to find something for me and somehow, a cot appeared - only through her efforts. She deserves our nomination for the DAISY award.
