Since my first visit to MDA to the Sarcoma department, I was "impressed" with Rachel Henderson's personal attention and response to all my questions, scheduling needs, and physical details of coordinating several other specialists and doctors to fit into my time for other procedures and tests for 2 other types of cancer - Thyroid cancer and Melanoma, other than what they see me for in the Sarcoma department - Desmoid cancer.
Both Rachel and Dr. P have directed and assisted me in obtaining better health, while still battling 3 types of cancer over the last 2 years. Together, they made me feel important and guided me with their caring attitude and immediate responses to my personal needs.
Besides Rachel being incredibly efficient, she always calls me back in Colorado with answers to my voicemails (usually on the same day). That is "rare" in today's busy work and I feel very fortunate. They made me feel like this massive MDA hospital is my "hometown team."
My emotions went from being scared of the size of MDA to felling embrace with the warmth of a small hometown environment.
