Rachel Henry, RN

My hip fractured spontaneously in October, and the pain was extraordinary. My physician assembled an emergency team to replace my hip that evening. The surgery went great, but when I woke up, the pain was unlike anything I had experienced. The nurses were having a difficult time getting my pain under control, and I was screaming. Rachel came to me and played my favorite music in my ear with her phone, massaged my temples, and coached my breathing along with a torrent of encouragement and compassion. I could feel the love pouring from her. She was able to calm me down and get me to concentrate on the music and breathing. This began to help my pain. I will never forget this woman.
