If it wasn't for Rachel taking the time to do this, he would have never been able to tell his wife these things
I really wanted to take the time to let you know that Rachel went far beyond her nursing duties to let a patient say his last good byes to his wife as she was getting transferred to a different facility.
A COVID positive husband and wife came into the Emergency department. The wife was in critical condition so she was getting transferred to a higher level of care. Rachel took the time to gown, glove, mask, and shield both herself and the husband up and used a wheelchair to wheel him down to the wifes room to allow him to say goodbye to her and let her know he loved her through the glass doors before she left.
Unfortunately, she passed away. If it wasn't for Rachel taking the time to do this, he would have never been able to tell his wife these things because he never saw her after that day.
I just want to reiterate how wonderful and thoughtful this gesture was by Rachel and I truly would like her recognized for being so caring and just being an awesome person.
