Rachel was an integral part of the team that saved my husband's life when he was admitted to the hospital 8 weeks ago. My husband had initially been misdiagnosed and after 3 days was finally correctly diagnosed and the proper treatment was begun. This was an extremely difficult and emotional time for my husband, our daughter, and me as by the time my husband was correctly diagnosed, we were close to losing him as the infections had spread throughout his body including heart valves and his blood was septic. Rachel was always on top of the care requirements of my husband and was so proactive in anticipating issues that might, and often did, arise. Not only was her care exceptional; her compassion, empathy and concern for my husband, as well as for our little family unit, made our struggle bearable...and remember...we were in the hospital for 8 weeks and experienced care from many great nurses but Rachel rises above everyone. Rachel was assigned to my husband for five straight days so we saw her in action consistently during that period.
